Meet the Designer
Born in Switzerland to Persian parents and raised in the United States, the influences upon which New York City-based designer Mitra Moshari draws for her projects are as diverse and global as her projects themselves.
Known for architectural interiors rich with texture and exuberant integrations of fine art and heirloom pieces, her work is often noted for its balance of utility and personal expression.
Mitra Moshari’s approach to interior design is informed by her pursuit of authenticity tailored to each client. She believes that understanding a site’s history and architecture is crucial prior to embarking upon a project. With projects worldwide, she maintains meticulous attention to detail and quality from conception to completion. Each of her design decisions have a distinct sense of purpose which ultimately results in better, more thoughtful interior design.
Mitra Moshari studied Psychology and Art and received her graduate degree in Architecture from VA Tech. During her tenure at Robert AM Stern she became enamored with interior design and the positive effects it can have on peoples lives.
Prior to starting Moshari Studio, a full service interior design firm, she was lead Designer at GRADE and MA.
“
My ancestors who settled the arid, unforgiving Persian Plateau followed one priority above all else: function. Every generation thereafter has worked to find and create beauty in it.”
“
New York is fueled by curiosity and an unquenchable thirst for reinvention. There’s no better place to temper a reverence for tradition with a contemporary outlook.”
“
Home isn’t a place; it’s a feeling. And it comes from the objects we surround ourselves with.”
